Covered Garbage Regulations Now In Effect

Residents of the Town of Massey Drive are advised that the town's Covered Garbage Regulations are now once again in effect. We would like to thank you for your co-operation over the winter months.

Effective immediately all garbage placed at curbside for pick up must be covered or placed in acceptable covered containers.

Acceptable covering material would be:

-Nylon or polyester netting with mesh not larger than 25mm x 25mm.

-A blanket or tarp that provides adequate coverage, does not blow off, and is easily removable by the garbage collector.

All containers or garbage cans must be water tight and be equipped with handles and water tight covers.

Community Garden

We are currently exploring the possibility of establishing a community garden in Massey Drive. Community gardens have become increasingly popular in recent years and have become an integral part of community health and wellness programs. Whether or not one is viable in Massey Drive is dependent on public utilization, and interest in having such a facility. If you are interested in becoming part of a community garden group please contact the town office by e-mail at or by phone at 634-2742. If sufficient interest is shown we will then schedule a planning and information session to get the ball rolling.
