Covered Garbage Regulations Now In Effect

Residents of the Town of Massey Drive are advised that the town's Covered Garbage Regulations are now once again in effect. We would like to thank you for your co-operation over the winter months.

Effective immediately all garbage placed at curbside for pick up must be covered or placed in acceptable covered containers.

Acceptable covering material would be:

-Nylon or polyester netting with mesh not larger than 25mm x 25mm.

-A blanket or tarp that provides adequate coverage, does not blow off, and is easily removable by the garbage collector.

All containers or garbage cans must be water tight and be equipped with handles and water tight covers.

Welcome to the Town of Massey Drive website and the Massey Drive Volunteer Fire Department. This website is an important tool to facilitate communication about fire services and fire safety. The fire service has identified a three pronged approach to a total community fire safety program:

  • Public Fire Safety Education
  • Fire Prevention Inspections
  • Emergency Fire Response
We hope that this website will assist you in becoming more aware of our efforts in these three areas and, most importantly, the fire safety measures you can take to protect your family and property.
Our service is provided by the Town of Massey Drive and supported by municipal taxes. We have included a number of links which will provide you with a host of fire service and safety information to browse through.
Our most important asset is the dedicated group of committed and highly trained individuals who make up our department. We hope you will join our “team” by educating yourself and your family to be as fire safety conscious as possible.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Town Council, community groups, residents of the Town and especially all our Firefighters, past and present for their service and support over the past years
Thanks for visiting and come back again.

Fire Chief,
Wayne Giles
